Stephanie has a special interest in working with children, adolescents, and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, body-image and self-esteem issues, family conflict, and spirituality.
Stephanie has experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings focusing on eating disorders and has worked extensively with individuals struggling with behavioral issues, school problems, self-harm, and suicidal ideation.
Stephanie believes in an eclectic approach to therapy, which means adapting to the unique needs of each person depending on the problem and treatment goal. Some treatment modalities Stephanie uses in therapy include Trust Based Relational Intervention, Trauma-Based CBT, biofeedback, mindfulness, strength-based therapy, Christian counseling, and her favorite: activity-based therapy which includes play therapy, sandplay, expressive arts therapy, and art therapy.
Stephanie believes her role as a therapist is to establish a close therapeutic relationship with clients so they feel comfortable and empowered to process struggles challenging their daily lives as well as build coping skills that will allow them to process stress and other challenges and increase overall well-being.
In her free time, Stephanie enjoys attending events hosted by her church and faith community, working on crafting projects, shopping for new sensory materials and fidget toys, and spending time with family, friends, and her cat Louie.
